Most of us who had an NES played Whomp 'Em. It was a platformer that played like Megaman. The main hero was a Native American named Soring Eagle. He used a spear as a weapon and gathered elemental ords that level bosses held captive.

In Japan, it as known as "Saiyuki". Based off the Legend called "Journey West", you controlls Son Wukong the Monkey King. A.k.A Son Goku.

Goku and Soring had the same moves, Goku just used his pole, but the levels were the same. Well.. Enjoy!

  • I wish I could have been there when they were thinking of how to port this to North America. "Hmm, Western audiences have never heard of 'Journey to the West', so what can we...wait...west...I got it! Turn the hero into an INJUN! Yeah, then give him a silly stereotypical name and change nothing else!"

    Man, I miss Amercanized ports.
