It is absolutely fantasic that Elton John and Leon Russell teamed up for an album! And this is one of many great songs they put together !

Elton said in an interview that he always admired Leon's piano performances, and it only came natural that he wanted to do an album with him.

@schwibert Well, for me he does soar; personally i'd have liked another song by him instead of You're Never Too Old (by Elton, as you know). As a long time Elton fan I knew of him of course, but now i've been exploring some of his songs on youtube, thinking of getting an album. Yes, i've heard The Union in full lots of times now, and love it. Well, even so soon after his op, he still has what it takes! The final song on the album is very touching

@mizofan you might be right..I've seen Elton John many times..I just want so badly for Leon to soar like never before..i do like Elton he has most likely has saved Leons life..after his brain surgery.if you havent heard the who CD you can google NPR...You will be able to hear it all..

@schwibert true-their styles are completely different. But that's what makes it a great collaboration. Take a pinch of Elton, add a dash of Leon. That's the recipe for a perfect "Union."

@schwibert I think you're being a bit unfair on Elton, he did after all do more than his share of composing and also a sizeable amount of singing and piano playing. With such a good album he must have been doing a bit better than just ok. Much as i love Leon's work on it, it's still a great collaborative effort.
