Krista Tippett, Host and Producer, Speaking of Faith, American Public Media, moderates a panel on Faith and Politics. Panelists included Steven Waldman, Co-founder, CEO and Editor, Beliefnet.com; and Jim Wallis, Editor, Sojourners.
This excerpt is part of a series of remarkable panels conducted at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs in September 2008 during the Republican Convention. The panels brought together leading policy makers and observers to debate a wide range of challenges facing the country.
It's so unfair when in discussions one side choses a name for themselves in a VERY subjective way. I am ABSOLUTELY pro-life, yet I am in favor of abortion (within a few let's say "limits" that are merely logical and reasonable). When using pro-life to name one side of the argument, you imply that the other side is anti-life, and fuck you for implying that. (this message is not directed at anyone in particular, just random ranting on my part.)
