  • @sportsfan1937 Actually its not, its just that they are tuned down to a lower pitch than we are used to these days. This makes it sound like G flat instead of G. Modern players that want to to try recapture exactly how it was played in older times tune down like this, sometimes called "Baroque pitch"(I'm a musician)
