With the prevailing winds blowing in from the Atlantic and Irish Sea, the west coasts of Ireland and Great Britain are somewhat hazardous to vessels that get into difficulties in a blow.
It's one long lee shore and there have been wrecks all along the coast since people started to venture to sea.
It'd probably be more difficult to come up somewhere there hadn't been a wreck.
It makes for some nice shots that this wreck is partially exposed though.

Wow, I grew up in Little Bispham, right next to this beach! Has there been any discussion of the fact that the ship is beached right next to an older wreck (which is clearly visible in your video)? Coincidence? Seems unlikely.

Nice video. I haven't been down for a couple of days and wondered what they were up to with the crane. Thanks.

Those people at 04:15 have got guts. I'd be scared to stand there in case the ship fell over the rest of the way.

Seen the ship today? I did, Its not any differant to how it was on the 5th. I live in Blackpool Btw.
Ben-my-Chree can be seen at 01:25 and 01:40 and Moondance can be seen at 04:46.
I will put some more footage up later. See also my Isle of Man Steam Packet clips.
