Fraxy- Preview

A preview of the new un-named project I'm working on. The first stage is named assault.

I was playing around with the 401 try at first, just seeing if I can get my boss to work in it and then I thought, "why not make my own, but a horizantal shooter instead?" Using the knowledge I had from making previous try files, the tutorials, and the 401 file I was able to create a horizontal shmup in fraxy. Also a lot of image editing was involved. I've only started this a few days ago, so I still have a lot of work to do. It's only in its beta stages as you can see not all the enemies have been replaced and not all scenarios have been changed.

Thats why I want you guys to help me make the try file. What do I mean? Give me ideas. Help me beta test. Help me with the try itself. I'll even ask people to make enemies if they want and I'll convert it into horizantal mode. This will make this more of a group project then just me.

Note this was just a teaser, that's why I skipped through most of the play through.

I don't know how you do it, but, is it possible to make it so that bosses would support the player as well as attack?

I mean, if you change the coding, could you make cores that would track other cores?

I see what you mean but, I don't think I can do something perfectly like it, but something similar. I'll keep that idea in mind.

That would be part of the reason why I am studying programming.

I've found that the files will open in a text reading program like notepad.

All that's left to do is translate the characters.

I bet some programmer somewhere could do it, but I don't have the knowledge or experience to try... but heck, if I did know how to do it, I'd definitely give it a try!

Actually, the files are already there, in the "parts" folder. All that is needed,... is absolute power!

LOL, NO! All that is needed is a program that can translate the files into a readable - and therefore modifiable - format.

Seems like what I said all that time ago caused a stir.

Well, here's what I mean.

What you SEE in fraxy is just the images. Beneath them, there is scripting to control them.

What I meant was, if the file could be found that controls the cores, then it could be re-written to cause them to identify other cores as targets, and move in relation to them.

Hmm... if you could find a way to get cores to help the player, then you might even be able to get them to work like options from Gradius ^_^... but of course it wouldn't be perfect, with them only being able to use the weapons they have on them and their triggers and all that.

Reminds me of Einhander for the PSone. (One of my favorite games! YAY!)
