Chain breaks pulling out stuck lifted Chevy

Ahh to be young: We did not want to stick around for the police to come so we used what we had.

Stupid ass city people, you NEVER fucking stand near a chain like that. I have broke so many chains that are much higher rated and the dents all over my tailgate prove it.

You should use a really thick rope made to pull tractors.

I keep carpet in my truck to put over chains.

Couple words ! " TOW STRAP " Some are rated higher in strength than chains and if it breaks you might get rope burn or a welt chain breaks you die.

Ever seen a half-ton pickup unstuck a burried RV with a toy hauler on it. LOL good luck doing that with chains. Nothing beats a tractor or tugboat recovery strap/rope.

@Spywell got a sled stuck in the ice on the shore. ski was under the ice and other on top. Strap snapped and dented the tailgate almost in half. Shit is too dangerous

well, at least you kinda of knew what was gonna happen. I guess if the driver wants to risk his life, thats his business. A jacket or blanket on in would have helped, but chains are so heavy that I don't know how much it difference it would have made.
