Its always a pleasure to her caballe at her prime time. She sang in the early yeras like a "Wildcat"...but then she sounds softer and softer...and thats her right!
But I like her first years - she sing with force,dramatic intelligence an intelligence!

As elsewhere in this performance, Caballé is in bella voce. This is a pivotal scene in the drama, beginning with the "...in vostra man! Coraggio..." The final "in vostra man!" is delivered with appropriate force. It's unlikely that Caballé saw Callas in this in 1951 (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with Kleiber), but I'm almost certain she was familiar with the private recording made by Legge. Caballé is good here, but Callas is unforgettable. Brava to both!

The Very Magnificent Caballé of 1974... superb! Such authority in the voice, always. And also the scenographer (J.Svoboda) did a very effective job... These are without doubt the most beautiful pictures of Caballé in a staged production ever. She really stands out and is in full force!
