@DanAndAmberTube Exactly. Anti-favoritism and above all Pro-Constitution - which means he is Pro-Property-Rights. That is the PART of the civil rights act he opposed - the UNCONSTITUTIONAL part that allowed the Federal Government to tell a private business owner what to do on their own private property. He was standing for the Constitution, not against black people.

But unthinking knee-jerk Liberal/Progressives have their usual infantile reaction, devoid of all critical thinking ability.

dont fall for that mis conception. there is no federal law which requires the electors to vote according to the popular vote of their state and, on multiple occasions electors break faith with voters to vote against the popular vote of their state. electors are not ELECTED. presidents often are elected regardless of the popular vote. ERGO my friend, we live in a "representative republic" sometimes called a "democracy" to soothe the mindless who think their vote matters.

You're confusing direct democracy with the general terminology of democracy. What you and I both are describing falls under the umbrella of democracy. Remember, the majority vote chooses the representatives.

no we are NOT a "democracy". your vote means -nothing-. your electors do. ergo, a "representative republic". verify the definitions. "representative democracy" means you elect the electors. silly. we don't.

We are also a Democracy. Republican form of Representative government classifies as Democracy. The constitution restrains the majority from infringing upon the rights of the minority, and that is all.
