Orks have a worse leadership. Have you ever read the Alpha Legion book? It is a very good stroie, I reccomend you personally if you are a fan of space marines, chaos, eldars, and imperial guards. In that book it tells you how Imperial Guards faought like hell against there enamies. Even when the space marines became chaos and attacked the Imperíal ships the guards stood there growned and still fought with them.

Ya sure they do, they are the biggest pussies of the whole WH 40k game. They often get overrun and have to have commissars in order to shoot them so they hold the line, any other race is better in comparison.

No. They die fighting for the Emperor, no matter what happens they hold the line and give the enamie hell.

in some backgrounds (The most usual to find) there is 1 space marine for each Imperium planet (in the rolebook there is a page showing that in 729.m41 the imperium has 32 milions of hive worlds) surely imperial guard can cover more battle zones then space marines, because every planets is a possible recruitment place

They are ordinary men and women fighting truly extraordinary enemies. And judging by the fact that the Imperium is still standing they clearly win enough battles.

I'd go as far to say that they are more important than the Astares because of their numbers. Not that the Marines aren't vital.

This army is from Cadian man. What do you expect. This planet have the reputation for the bad ass IG troops.
