Achieving My Dream [HQ]
by Brenda Cole (videos)
3:49 Music and Lyrics written by Brenda S. Cole for South Texas College Employee Recognition Ceremony 2008 to celebrate all the hard work they do to help students achieve their educational dreams for themselves and their families. The title was adapted from the national initiative in progress called Achieving the Dream to promote educational attainment and success for students of of color and/or low income. The passion behind the song came from the love of my Lord Jesus Christ whom I attempt to serve daily as I try to contribute to the well being of people all around me. I'm not worthy of His favor and I thank Him for allowing me to participate in His work.

My personal thanks to Kim Snyder, the ingenuity behind this project, for her professional organization and coordination of the audio and video recording and mixing, her vocals and keyboard tracks, all of which made this project possible! Thank you Kim! It never would have happened without your leadership. Thanks also to Charlie Vela for the fantastic bass and drum tracks and miracle mixing!

  • Thanks, DJ. I have to admit that I'm not the mixer in this, but I'm sure all this information will be helpful down the road. I thought the mix was fabulous compared to the original from my home studio! ;-)

  • Comments anyone? Constructive criticism is good stuff!!

  • Epic win.

  • The guitar seems to cover up the voices rather than accentuate the lyrics, I'd lower the highs a bit in the mix and give the vocals more presence. The delivery of vocals feels a little vanilla, keep working at it =]

  • Great song. Thanks for showing the video in class. I play a lil guitar myself.
