Seattle-based International District Housing Alliance's Project WILD (Wilderness Inner-City Leadership Development), after-school program for high school Juniors and Seniors created this video about subsistence fishermen who rely on the Duwamish River to feed their families. The Duwamish River is a Federal Superfund site, and governments, businesses and the community are currently working on the cleanup plans.
The youth interviewed fishermen in November 2010, and share their experiences and what they learned during the project. The youth narrate the photo slideshow, and translate into their native languages: Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, and Khmer.
