Writer-director John Sayles, whose highly acclaimed films range from "Brother from Another Planet" to "Silver City" to "Honeydripper," stopped in Taos, New Mexico May 18, 2009 to screen "The Howling" (which he wrote) and "The Secret of Roan Inish" (which he wrote and directed) at the Taos Community Auditorium. He also was in the state to work with New Mexico's new partnership with the Sundance Institute to create a film-oriented facility at Los Luceros, which was made public May 14 by NM Gov. Bill Richardson. Interview shot and edited by Rick Romancito exclusively for The Taos News Media Center.

Not to nitpick, but while discussing THE HOWLING, Sayles refers to the 40s Wolf Man films and gets the actors name's right- but incorrectly cites the movies as MGM productions when they are in fact UNIVERSAL studio classics.
