On June 9, 2009, the City of Shoreline dedicated a new park in the Richmond Beach Neighborhood. King County contributed $750,000 of Brightwater mitigation funds to the park, which is on the southern 2 acres of a pump station site. The name Kayu Kayu Ac is the name the Duwamish gave to the area of the park, and is also the name for the shrub kinnickinnick (Indian Tobacco), which is thought to have grown naturally in abundance in the area.
