  • @TObianchi I don't follow that at all. Nor do I consider emergent/missional churches to be embracing universalism.

  • @SoniaSephia, while I agree wholeheartedly with you...unfortunately these labels are important to society. And I am guilty of it. I DO identify myself MORE with emergent theology(?) but this could be because the churches here in my small town tend to be focusing on harnessing the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT for personal gain vs being loving and compassionate. The other day a church sister said "Dont give change to that bum! I bet his wife picks him up at the end of the day." Huh?

  • Conservative or Emergent?

Why not just be a church that is loving and compassionate as Jesus Christ would want it? :) If even a 90 year would reach 14 year olds then whatever the point is that people are being Redeemed in Jesus Christ. :)

  • @TOBianchi Wow, that is the most ill-applied inference I've heard since Rob Bell said hell doesn't exist. Bravo.

  • black and hispanic people are not different to white people and twenty something peopl eare not different ot fifty something people. They all have things that are the same. WHen he said "I'm fifty something" and turned his head in an expresive way saying "I'm sinical", the truth is, twenty somethings are experiencing that too.

  • Another reality is genetic programming is a very real part of God's creation plan and throughout centuries it has been a requirement that mutations in our genetic code take place so that ADAM and EVE could arrive.... That same process of mutation is going to create.... baldness, bad eye sight... CANCER, Sickle Cell Anemia etc... so the creation process that brought man into being and creates our diversity will create traits that some consider undesirable. God is still glorified by bald men.

  • Huh? Port I think you speak more about what is of value to you. I think most folks in the world would value intelligence, integrity, and a voice into ones community over whatever it is that you think Makes some actress perfect. Tim Keller's teaching will be studied centuries after this years big hit is forgotten. You seem to lack any knowledge of theology. You introduce your ignorance with your very premise. Bad eyes and hair are at the core of Christian doctrine. The Fall of Man.

  • Did god strike him bald. I would be pissed if god took all my hair. God didn't give him very good eyes. If god was perfect how can he create inperfect eyes that need glasses. God really cheated that guy. He made Megan Fox perfect and all she loves is sin and dick. god isn't very fair.

  • It is scary that the question was asked about the church - but he only spoke about himself being of an older generation. Trying to escape the question with an elusive answer leaves the hearer to interpret it anyway he/she would like to see it. Tim Keller knows that the emergent movement is humanistic universalism. To answer as he did implies that Redeemer does not take a stand against the emergent apostasy and therefore, sad to say, eventually will succumb to it.

  • God gave you life so how can you desire God? You do not see or know God? The Redeemer will show you this.
