The Death of American Democracy

The collapses of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre, on September 11, 2001, were the most frightening images that I have ever seen, up until May 24th, 2011, when Binyamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of the United States Congress and received 29 standing ovations, along with many other outbursts of sycophantic applause.
It was the final nail in a coffin, the construction of which began long ago, and in it all remaining vestiges of democracy were joyfully laid to rest—by those sworn to protect it—as it became clear that the United States was now controlled by Enemies Inside its Gates.

Anyone who thinks religion is the answer is a part of the problem. Most politicians are Atheist or Agnostic, but they pretend to be religious to get elected, which only exacerbates an already overwhelming problem.

This is one of those quotes the contents of which is so blindingly obvious that one wonders why it needed to be said. If it is Sam Adams, didn't he realise that "vain and aspiring men" are an ever present danger?

His energies could have been better spent in pointing out how to moderate the power of such people.

That's the problem, the conditional "when knowledge is still... etc." The fact that the mainstream media and poor education has caused a population to become so ill informed, that they are sinking. The forces are all being applied, internally.

On the second quote, can any minority be tireless forever, or can they be worn down like the majority has been?
