So we've had the electric car since 1919 - but why haven't we used the technology. Ask the Oil Conglomerates. Too many people making too much money out of the status quo. Wicked - to have sat on this deliberatley and not to have developed the technology.

@hepcat65 Hey thanks for the info on this REAL American beauty.

@mymovienerd The Indian motorcycle looks like a 1926 or 27 Prince 350 cc / 21 cu in.

Ford may Ass!
Thats an Auto Red Bug. The Auto Red Bug was manufactured in Lafayette, Indiana, by the American Motor Vehicle Company, from 1916-1920

I saw one of these in a Norwegian vintage car magazine(Norsk Motorveteran). It was the gas version and had a 5th wheel on the back, which was a so called "Briggs & Stratton motorwheel. Just a wheel with a directly coupled engine inside it, the clutch on the car was you lifted the wheel from the ground...

What year is that Indian?! (the cycle)

@Vitanola, is right.
FORD?
The Auto Red Bug was a buckboard auto designed as a toy. Some resorts offered them to their guests as runabouts. These machines were not legal for street use in many places.
The machines were made by A. O. Smith and Briggs and Stratton. Ford had nothing to do with them.
A fine example of the electric is displayed at the Crawford museum. I've owned two electrics and one gasoline (five wheeler) myself. Several dozen of these interesting little scooters have survived.
