EWB-USA CU Rwanda Fall 2012 Promo

Our goal is to partner with the Rwandan Orphans Project to support the needs of 100 former street boys with food, shelter, education, and medical and psychological care. Our first project is to build a catch-up school not only for these orphans, but also for many other underprivileged children in the community that otherwise could not afford an education. This school will include 6 classrooms, 2 nursery rooms, a library, a computer lab, and 2 teachers' offices. Our team has been diligently working on the design for the school over the spring 2012 semester, and a group of 6 students has been in Rwanda during June and July where they surveyed the land where the school will be built, are finishing the details of the ROP school design plan, and have started the process of receiving building permits from the Rwandan government.
