  • I have heard that sadly the sydney branch are allot more lenient with the quality of their students..sad really

  • I train with other styles too i dont believe one style is the best its the man not the art

However i am sorry to hear of the bullshit that goes on in the wing chun world..

  • In general most people from adelaide are humble its sad that there are sum arrogant twats too ive copped it first hand until i put one on his ass lol thats why i prefer to train with different instructors who like to apply abit more reality to their training....ive never been to the sydney academy though ive heard mixed reviews

  • I agree with you 100 % sifu jim fung was great but i never met him though i trai. Here in adelaide there are allot of guys who their structure is great i personalky teain kettlebells to help with that n we do incorperate full.contact sparring with headgear too

Unfortunately here in adelaide due to in fighting allot of great instructors have left the academy....

  • I'm in Sydney. I have rolled with 4 different people from your school, ranging from 2 yrs - 25 yrs training. The guy who had been training for 17 years was the best, he was also a pretty humble guy, sadly the others were not so. They all had the same tendency to rip on other martial arts as being inferior to the IWCA. It's about the man more than it is the art. You ever try and spar a good Kyokushin Karate black belt, or a Muay Thai fighter? They'll test your structure mate. Wing Chun 4 Life.

  • it was only when I got thrown around like a rag doll by a senior that even I took it seriously..........what is your backround ??

  • @ lospirit were abouts are you ?are you in adelaide ? so you went to an orientation night did you roll with anyone ?If you would like to go to my branch n spar with some of us Im sure that we could arange something .....as well as other break of schools from Jim Fungs academy too if your interested......We have allot of quality instructors

but in the sydney branch and adelaide branches they are quite soft lol....

  • @gryfin80 ?

  • If you want to meet up for a friendly spar, send me a message. I'm always keen to learn from others. Remember it was you that said that people come to your school and realise that their kung fu is shit and has no structure. Maybe you could show me where i'm going wrong.

  • I'm not judging you, just stating facts. As for your assumption that I have been to the city branch, you are again wrong. I went there with a mate for an open day not that long ago and have to say that what I witnessed was comedic at best. I have been to other branches and there is no difference, just more instructors humping my leg trying to get my bank account details. Didn't see anything resembling sparring. You spar AND hit each other! That's what sparring is mate. I train in Sydney.
