This video shows you how to spoof your MAC address when using Windows 7 and explains what that means. This video also explains why you might want to spoof your MAC address. The method set forth in this video works essentially the same way in Windows XP and Windows Vista.

NOTE1: When spoofing your MAC address, only use characters from the number set 0-9 and letters from A-F. Also, never put "0" in any set except the first set (where you should always put "00").

NOTE2: The exact folder to put the "NetworkAddress" entry may be different for different computers (on one computer it was .../x/x/0007, but on a different computer it was .../x/x/0013). The correct folder is the folder with the "DriverDesc" value that matches the description of your network card (as seen in the network connections section of the control panel). See time frame 4:24 of the video.

  • thank youu!!! it really worked :D

  • @Pr0RedGAMER,

You are welcome. I am glad to get feedback from people who use this tutorial.

  • Great video!!! How do I change it back to its original manufacturer mac address? Just reboot? Or do I delete the newly made "NetworkAddress" file in reg32?

  • @2fast4u5,

Both: delete the "NetworkAddress" entry which you made and re-start the network card.

  • @LegitFish no its definitely the right folder matched the numbers and everything and my cards name was in there too

  • @shadow60793,

I suppose it is possible that you put the "NetworkAddress" entry in the wrong place in the registry...If you want to you can watch from time frame 4:24 in the video to double-check the specific instructions.

I suspect that the reason this method has "not worked" for some people is that they get the very last folder wrong...which is probably because I was not clear enough in the video. One of the numbered folders contains the "DriverDesc" value of your network card: use that folder.

  • @LegitFish Thanks bro.

  • Apparently, the host of the game server in question blocked your 'outside' IP, which blocks everyone on YOUR local network from joining the game.

Please correct me if I have made false assumptions about your situation.

  • ...that is unless you are the administrator for the network of which your local network is a part.

In short, you cannot get around the IP ban of the game you are trying to join as long as you remain in the network which was banned.

The method set forth in this video is primarily useful for getting past blocks within a local network since that is the environment in which MAC address blocking is most likely to occur.
