Between this scene and the scene where Taiga fights Sumire and then Kitamaru comes in like a REAL man and instead of dogging out or making Sumire feel bad, just says "You're really a kind person. I loved you from the bottom of my heart. I'm glad that I fell in love with you. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!" and burst into tears right near the end, those were like the two most emotional scenes in this anime, minus the end and other obvious ones.

I still remember when I was watching this and feeling all "now it's christmas, happy happy" and then this scene comes and I BURST into tears. but that's why toradora is amazing anime 'cause it isn't full of clichés like every other high school show. It tells about real life and how hard it is to fit in and find your own place.
