The alternate travel in slc is getting much, much better, and you may want to look into the trax again, there are miles of new lines going in and also light rail connecting to the airport, with commuter rail connecting to north Utah complete and all the way down to Provo almost complete.

I have family who live in Salt Lake.. The biggest set back for me is when I visit im stuck in a car whenever I want to go somewhere.. The mass transit system is almost non-existent, NO bike Lanes, NO walking trails, VERY limited TRAX access, there is no real alternative to the automobile in SLC. Also the sprawling grid-like layout of the city makes trips even to the grocery store time consuming and annoying. Community, Culture, and sustainable alternatives have not been implemented in this city

SLC is one giant car-dependent unsustainable polluted suburbia.. building a couple tall buildings doesn't make a city great... city planning and livability does, two things SLC lacks 100%.

Love it! Salt Lake sure continues to change over the years! Can't wait for City Creek to be done!
