Its hard to learn this alternate picking. I always do a downstroke on the higher strings and upsreotke the lower strings so always moving down A forward and up backward to the E6. But always down,up down, up, down, up......its hard to me..... Or i have some bad habits?...dunno.

To all you with cheap guitArs...not 100 dollar cheap but 300 cheap i bet you pg could come to your house and play your guitar cllose to that fast stop getting all crazy over the gear 2500 dollar guitar will play faster sure to. A pro but trust me if your not fast on the 300 model your not going to be fast on the 2500 guitar..practice

Shows how much you can do with simple scale...granted superhuman speed but could get some cool riffs if I slow down the idea a bit

Paul gilbert is humble and kind, and most of all, he is a legend. This lesson on legato is good for all genres...A lot of guitarist begin playing without any legato, picking every note. If you're a beginner watching this, practice this everyday and apply it to almost everything you play in order to play smoother runs. Doing this is easy. Doing this with an unmodified Squier Stratocaster isn't so easy. Doing it as fast as Paul is difficult. Doing this as fast as Paul with an unmodified Squier Stratocaster is VERY difficult. But i'm trying to do it. Cool anyway :D
