Video from my small camera. We're 1/2 mile away from liftoff. The Soyuz TMA-16 launches from the Baikonur Cosmodrome carrying Expedition 21 Flight Engineer Jeffrey N. Williams, Flight Engineer Maxim Suraev and Spaceflight Participant Guy Laliberté to the International Space Station.

No man, the reason is for safety. Now these vehicles are relatively safe so they allow civilians to watch the launch. In the past things were less safe. They didn't want people to get hurt for no reason.

  • a flying dildo??

  • I remember when Russian launches were done in total secrecy, and now foreigners can stand there with a camcorder and record it. The world has come a long way!

  • is wonderfull

  • awesome
