The skits,the characters,the outrageous costumes,the foul ups,and most importantly,the performers themselves got me in front of the set as a child every Saturday night.From Carol's Tarzan yell to Eunice and Mrs. (uh)Wiggins,from Tim's Old man sketches to Mr. Tudball,from Harvey's dressing in drag to the troubled Ed Higgins,from Vickie's high pitched voices to Mama Thelma Harper,this show was an absolute delight.It's unfortunate that the variety show is a thing of the past,because they were far more entertaining than the overwhelming barrage of reality shows that contaminate our screens today.This was,as best as I can recollect,the last great variety show.I miss it!

@animeking68 I did enjoy Mama's family and the Carol Burnett Show. this show spun off from. Mama' was a great character and I noticed in the early days she was more cranky but later on she loosed up a bit. even Vince and Naomi 's character's changed from smart to dumb. over the years

@animeking68 As for the situations on the show Mama taking favor for Ellen, it's like the one she approves of more while Eunice was the one she didn't. It used to make me feel bad for Eunice to a lot, but istill love the show, it was a classic in the idea of how family's can actually be and irt made for crazy sometimes sacastic, but humorous fun! Just like real familities can be!

@Astraldragon1 i think the fun of the skit was that Ellen was the spoiled wealthy one who liked flauting it. and Eunice was the one who didn't have anything herself. so they were always at each others necks , i liked both because they acted like sister's really can act together and we all know how siblings can be! and yes Betty White is beauitiful, although i like eunice to.
