Yes I've talked to him he said that he took the prerotator off for for less weight, he said there was really no point when you can start it up like this!

Did you take prerotator off for weight reasons? It appeared that you were slowly taxiing to build rotor speed, would they not speed up as well if you just gunned it and tried to take off right away? Does flying these ultralight gyros void life insuranc? Sorry for all questions, I love gyros and want one bad but wife is not letting me get one. Thanks for video.

LOL...Ya mean ya ain't 25yo any more? The week I turned 16 (1-1-66) Dad took me down to the Naples, FL airport and enrolled me in the high-tech flight training program...they had two Piper J-3's. I soloed in 6 hours and built an additional 10 hours...all for that $100...
Brother John & I wanted to build the Bensen giro back in '66 but Dad said "HELL NO"...He and a friend built a Pietenpol back in '32...
Just to clarify, the main rotors are not attached the the engine and are free spinning. He only turns them by hand to decrease takeoff distance.

Actually, I spin them by hand because they will not begin to spin on their own. They will just flap around. They need a little start before the wind can take over.
