I remember sympathizing with Sirrus being stuck on this age. We never did find out if Spire actually had a bottom or not. It was suggested by Atrus that it was nothing but a crystal shard floating around but it's not like you could easily traverse the age vertically to confirm that. Sirrus certainly couldn't tell. All he was looking for was some sign of life on that desolate place.

This whole age is amazing, I love the cold sun, the sound of the wind through the rocks and the music, that is played in Spire. Totally gives me goosebumbs

@color issue: yeah, it's a discrepancy between the games, but you can't blame them. The original myst was revolutionary for it's time. They probably couldn't concieve it was going to go this far.
As for the age: in my opinion, THE best. Provided you could leave, or if there were many people there with you, I would live there. It's a floating crystal that hovers above a planet that is glowing flouresent green! How awesome is that?
