You commented on the fact that you're reading things in the passages that you didn't know were there. That's what the NIV does, it's a very clear translation and brings out the meaning of scripture. When I read the NIV for the first time, everything bacame clearer to me as well. I don't like what they've done with the 2011 NIV though.

My first reading of the Bible was the NIV but for memorization...KJV. ROCK ON KEEP 'EM COMING.
