The LabVIEW GUI was made using LabVIEW 8.20 and uses COM ports to communicate via Bluetooth serial port profile (SPP). The file is available for download at sourceforge.net/projects/roboticscode/files under the name "Serial Control.vi". This works with AVR code from "RC tank_no PWM ATtiny2313.c".

  • The RN41 and RN42 are pin compatible and run the same firmware, it should work fine

  • You can definitely use a different Bluetooth module that supports Serial Port Profile. I like the RN-41 and RN-42 because these can be configured via Bluetooth, meaning once I've connected to the module wirelessly I can set the baud rate, name, etc. using a computer terminal program such as TeraTerm.
