Or the other scumbag kid who fired and shot a kid in the back of the head and hit another in the leg...both of who had nothing to do with the altercation he was in? Please! NOBODY gets the maximum sentence for illegal firearms in NYC, and it's always the DA's office who's quick to make the deal to dish out a much shorter sentence.

The question is, are the right people paying attention to the message? How the hell does a state have a law that throws people in jail for 3 1/2 years for having a handgun. That's crazy. Now he shouldn't have carried it into a bar, but I don't understand the logic whatsoever in putting him in jail for a couple of years for possession of a handgun. It's a right stated in the constitution to be able to arm yourself and now people are going to jail for exercising that right.

Why shouldn't he be able to carry in a bar? If the owner of the establishment permits the possession of firearms, then it should be allowed. If you carry for self defense, you can't make exceptions for where you carry. The one time in your life you need a gun on you may be the day you left it in the car because you were entering a gun free zone.

What's been forgotten in all of this is the fact that there had been a number of home invasions and robberies of rich NFL players, some fatal, like in Miami.

He wasn't a gangster carrying because he was showing off, he was carrying because assholes will rob his bling for money or just fame.

I think they went too far in going after him, since the cops do stupider things and get away with it, oftentimes having the same officials make excuses for them.
