It's set in the 1960's, everything is period 60's including the gun. We did our research at the time. I believe the gun we used is a Browning 1911. It is called that because it was formally adopted by the US Army on March 29, 1911, and thus became known officially as the Model 1911. It is still around now 100 years later and would certainly have been around in the 60's when this film is set.
