I visited the phonebox today, it's still in Forness, about an hours drive away from Aberdeen. Great to see :)

I love that shot of the lighted red telephone box contrasting with the blue twilight in the background. Gorgeous.

The beauty and humanity of this movie is... the 'local hero' is whoever you want it to be. Absolutely magical.

i live in aussie land never heard of this guy called rouncer74and ive been here since 64 he seemingly talks shit as i can see Duncan

Local Here is a great little gem.
The writing, the subtlety, the gentle and abiding message, it all works.
To not appreciate is to lack the simple ability to know beauty when you see it.

rouncer74 how can you possibly not love this film ? Pure magic

who is ben?
Eh, just ignore rouncer74, he's been posting on several other Local Hero related vids calling it "slow, uneventful, predictable, boring and a drag." and "cinematic garbage", so he's either a troll, or just somewhat ignorant, which is a shame as he's worked himself between the two options, seemingly intentionally.

and yet rouncer74, after seeing this movie half-asleep years ago, goes out of his way to look this up on youtube and post a comment. Well.
This was a great movie. Thanks for posting!
