@caribousteaks It doesn't hold that much oil. But I think American's should know that 98% of all wind generator parts are made over seas. I have hauled nearly everything needed to make one for GE from the LA ports, Houston ports, and Philly. The main gear box on the large turbine weighs 42,000 pounds. It might have 4 gallons of oil in it. But your right about one thing, for one of those to go up, add in 20 truck loads of fuel to haul everything around and set up which is 4400 gallons of diesel.

Turn of your computer, throw away your cell phone, strip naked and walk to the nearest forest to live out your days. Everything uses resources. I am so sick of hearing from you "hidden cost" hippies. We have to make an investment somewhere. Yea it probably won't break even for 10 or 20 years yea, it uses energy to fabricate, transport and construct it. But energy is the lowest form of investment we can make. You have probably heard the saying you got to have money to make money. Well apply it.
