I'll tell you a song of love won and lost
We traveled together though the time it was short
We thought we're forever but it came to naught
And then she did leave me and I live alone

Now being alone gives me time for myself
Memories of her and what we did share
It seems to me I could have done more
But that's just a feeling you have when you're down

I told her I loved her and the truth of that lives
Even in anger I wanted her near
The things that I said I can never take back
Empty of meaning, empty of worth

And how we did love when the moments were right
The joy in my heart searing my soul
But jealousies sprang up and petty greed
I wanted more than she would give

Now follow this closely for it makes sense to me
That when you love there's no feeling of need
And if you take what your loved one would give
You'll live in your memories and you'll live alone

Like it. got a Townes Van Zandt sort of vibe to it a bit, which is really simply a dark hillbilly folk cowboy thing. your voice isn't as deep as I'm used to it so I'm picking it was recorded a few years ago...

@CurtisMateer Recorded quite a long while ago. Got a couple more "oldies" to put up shortly. I do in fact still listen to you tube music. There's just so much coming at me (10 to 15 a day) that I can't watch them all or always comment when I do. Yours, I always notice. Thanks for having a listen.
