i did the race using superslides. i don't remember the last time i competed with this guy since i never play him nowadays.

he cannot be beaten, even if you use cheats.

he's programmed that way.

I know how to beat him! Just go back in time with the master sword to cause a time paradox, that's all. :)

@kanecobond The joke about "beating him" aside, is under 1:00 actually possible legitimately? I got 1:00 even on the 3DS version last week, after a lot of sweat, blood and tears. It seemed as I was doing that run like there really wasn't anything I could do to make it faster though... short of glitching, which I don't think any of the old N64 glitches work in the new game.

I got every single heart as well...and this is not one of them.

People sometimes don't know that you get a second heart piece with the frogs at Zora's Domain so they think the last one is by beating the Marathon Man. xD

You can beat him as long as you get there under a minute.

I've been trying in the 3DS version, but it's been so long that I've been out of practice....the closed time for me has been 1:01 as of now.

I've been doing this with Epona, btw.
