The Cross Israel Highway 6, is a 140 km national electronic toll road that transverses the country's North South corridor. The highway is a DBOT (Design, Built, Operate, Transfer) project funded by $1.4 billion in private investment, built to the highest international road standards of quality, environmental protection and safety. Highway 6 is the largest and most prestigious infrastructure project undertaken in Israel.
Neoloy-based PRS-Neoweb serves as a reinforcing interlayer in the upper pavement, directly under the asphalt, contrary to conventional practice, which puts geocells at the subgrade. This maximizes the 3D reinforcement mechanism on the pavement structure increasing its bearing capacity and load distribution. Most important was PRS-Neoweb strength and durability allowed a reduction in asphalt base thickness and the elimination of the base layer by using lower cost subbase infill.
