  • i love black bears. they are friendly creatures that pretty much always try their best to avoid any contact with humans. that's why they USUALLY come around at night when all is quiet and dark.

it's much more rare to see them out in broad daylight like this picking through people's garbage cans etc.

be wary of these bears, but do not be afraid of them. they are naturally very scared of people and make sure you don't crowd or corner them ever. give them their space and all will be fine.

  • Because it is easier calorie-hunt than getting it from berries (black bears rarely hunt other animals)... and because there are selfish people who leave attractants out despite full knowing they are in the bear country. For those who do not know North Vancouver borders with open wilderness. It is actually sad. These bears will be dead bears soon... thanks to 604GhostAces and his irresponsible attitude towards animals that normally shy away from humans!

  • that looks like upper highlands or top of delbrook right?

  • when i went to squamish, bc at night i woke up and saw a bear climbing on the back yard tree

  • For those who are not familiar with bears, they have a very good sense of smell. As a city by-law, we are not allow to leave our garbage outside overnight. In addition, the winter this past year was longer so there are less food available (berries, etc.)

  • Why black bears go looking for garbage in Vancouver?

  • LOL OH MY GOOOOSSSSH
