stating190 was better than109 shows lack of knowledge.when190appeared,it had more powerful engine than109f(then current version).it had better performance than the 109 BELOW 6K ft. but the 109 had much better performance ABOVE that.granted,alot of combat took place below 6k ft but most allied bomber missions,and eventually their escorts, took place at high altitude.this is one reasons crews feared the 109 so much.when the190dora came out,high altitude prfm. came. 109 climbed better than ALL190
