President Obama is planning a healthcare reform summit with Congressional leaders from both parties later this month. CBS News' Chip Reid and Politico.com's Mike Allen talk with Slate Magazine's John Dickerson about the upcoming meeting.

The President will not ask Republicans what they would do. He will give them a list of the most radical socialist initiatives and try to make them look bad in the eyes of the people. I doubt that there will be one common sense initiative on the table other than the public option and free health care for all Americans.

anyway, i dont want to argue, i saw someone make a really lame comment (it started: "Bipartisanship means twice as bad..", brilliant statement..) and i had to reply.

nobody is saying that the reform is a money saver. the money that you think is "lost" will be providing treatment to many Americans who otherwise couldn pay for it.

Look to Canada and Britain for the end-game: higher consumption taxes, higher income taxes, long waits for rationed healthcare and shortages of family physicians and nurses. This will not be good for job creation; the successful players in the manufacturing segment are making plans to reduce their work force in order to remain competitive in the new cradle to grave United Socialist States of America.

Last Chance Saloon. Assuming a loss of either/both houses in 2010, Dems will never get it through if not now. Get it through now and a House/Senate turnover would be for naught since a 2/3 would be needed to undo the damage. Obama is the pinnacle of statist hubris - the condescension required to ram this agenda through despite popular opposition. Obama talks like a moderate but his actions clearly reveal a radical who will ram socialism down our throats unless he is dragged out of office.
