We recorded the sounds of typing on a Clicky Das Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches and a Silent Das Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches. Compare both the sound and the sound waves for both in this video.
@xZildjian I do agree, I was debating for a long time too. In the end I opt in for MX Brown also. But I have previously tried Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (MX Blue) for a week before I returned it, there's nothing wrong with that keyboard really I just didn't like the 5 macro keys on the left hand side. But after I got the MX Brown I find I sort of miss MX Blue a little bit. Blue is definitely more fun to type on, but at the same time I'd say Brown feel a bit more "precise" for certain tasks.
Calling that a Silent is most definitely false advertising. How about "quiet"? That is a subjective term at least. I can barely tell the difference between the two.
I just ordered the Cherry MX Browns, I was previously torn to wanting to get the blues but I spent a lot of time speaking to other people and recording so I wouldn't want my keyboard to get in the way.
If your torn between the two, look at exactly what you use your keyboard for and if it is advantageous to get the silent instead of the loud. If there is no need for a silent keyboard, go straight for the loud because the sound makes you feel great!
@sm00419 Hey, you can get a refurbished keyboard + if you are a student you can get a student discount of 20% off new keyboards and 15% off refurbished. I got my refurbished model s professional for 90$ from the website. They give you free shipping also.

I find after watching countless videos of cherry blue vs cherry brown I still can't decide =_____= though I think I might brown slightly better :P

Hmm...to be honest they sound about the same to me, and both seem relatively loud.
My hesitation with a Das Keyboard is just the lack of media keys-I like volume up/down + a play/pause button.
I wish I could compare keyboards with all the various switches. Like I'm really not sure if I'd prefer brown, blue, or black...
