@rolffz Mark Andes and Jay Ferguson left Spirit at the same to time to form Jo Jo Gunne…
-
@leonakita probably used them on natures way

strangest drum kit i ever saw... 2 gigantic tynphonies on left and right..that he never touches btw

Yeah, actually rolffz I bought "Spirit of '76" and "Son of Spirit" when they came out and saw the three piece Spirit that toured behind them (along with some other incarnations). Those are very worthy LPs and live they were always good -- but my point was that after Sardonicus they fell off the map; never could regain the momentum artistically or commercially. But I loved this band.
Andes should write a book!

This was a great tune, never understood why it wasn't a hit.

@Misterhappynyc Bass player Mark Andes went on to play in the popular LA Country/Folk Rock band FireFall (You are the Woman -(that I've Always Dreamed Of)' ) and later in the very successful band Heart.
Jay Ferguson launched the band JoJo Gunne (RunRunRun) and continued on his own solo career with big hits like the song 'Thunder Island'.

@Misterhappynyc Spirit influenced many bands like Led Zeppelin They opened for Spirit and admittedly copped some of there songs, too. Check out Spirit's Taurus and the opening notes/chords to Led Zep's Stairway to Heaven. Also listen to Spirit's Space Child and Steely Dan's FM.
One of the greatest 'unknown' influencing rock bands that truly belong in the RnR Hall of Fame.

@Misterhappynyc Spirit of '76 was a trippy Florida/Hawaii influenced compilation of loosely assemble studio tracks and out takes that contains some real gems if you have the patience to sit through some of the trippy effects/sounds and 'studio banter & playtime'.
This is great. How the heck did you get such good quality from all those years ago?

@431mu The clip has been officially released, "Music Scene" (on MPI Home Videos). It's now out of print, though.
