  • I lived in Winnipeg as a child (1963-70). I remember my family driving out to Lockport so my father could go fishing.

After 40 years, the one memory that really sticks in my head was the loud sound the car tires would make going over that metal bridge.

  • I never really noticed that sound until you mentioned it...went there again, with your comment in mind, and, lo and behold, there it was ! LOL . . . now I hear it all the time...

  • Very nice.

I'm originally from Selkirk, and I travel over that bridge at least a couple times a week, yet rarely stop and appreciate the beauty of the locks, and the fishermen and seagulls and pelicans and other waterfowl. We often don't appreciate what we have right in our own backyards. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend time there this summer.

  • It's lovely there, even in winter...we stopped to look at all the ice just last week...then went to Birds Hill Park...every season has its own special beauty...

  • Yes, it's so peaceful there...we go there often and watch the birds and boats ;)

  • Big asian spot right here, the bastards still fish for cats and have the nerve to think they are the only ones who have a line in the water.

  • That restaurant sucks.

Waaay over priced. At least last time I was there.

  • have you ever been to the halfmoon restaraunt? It is awesome! :D

  • Thanks for posting karen 775. That's a good spot to watch the pelicans playing in the current.
