While most funerals involve painting a rosy picture about the deceased, Mickey Mantle's choice of this song for his funeral was a halsh self- indictment but also, I believe, was meant to send a message to others about wasting their lives because of booze. I wonder how many people got the message.

I recall him doing this song many, many times on stage or on his tv show. He could make you cry with the emotion he had in his voice! This video isn't done with that same intent, it doesnt do him justice although you can hear hints of it. Wow! Him & his Incredible guitar playing; it was genius to watch!
