@TONEMOTIONMAGIC I was excited by the k11 but when i got it in my hands i was very dissapointed...It was too "GM" for me and even the sound is clear I think it is nowhere near the fat sound of k1.I believe the k4 would be much better than k11
Great Keyboard by a pioneer in the piano makeing industry. Kawai makes top notch keyboards that seem to last quite a long time. The K-1 came out over 20years ago and you can still find some good working ones on e-bay. As for the K11 it has a very distinctive crystal clear sound thanks to it 18-bit DAC's and excellent clean samples........Go KAWAI
The K1 is not bad. I have a K1m. When I listened to it the first time, the depth and realism of the instrument sound blew me away. This video sounds not so good because it is not being played through a sound system (I think I could hear the poster cough at one point.) All Kawais are exceptionally good, and if you can get any of them for a reasonable price, it is well worth the effort. I have an MP8 II and a K5000W which are top of the line compared to any other brand.
@PaulEGone I liked mine until the top key stopped sending midi out data (internal was fine), so it moved on :-) I loved the Pitch and mod wheels. A great heavy yet smooth action. you wont find it on m-audio stuff lol
@Macdelaney I used to have one of these and I used it as a midi controller for triggering multiple synths with a sequencer. They are good, but take a bit off messing in the menu to configure the midi settings (on first glance). The keys are not weighted and are NOT full size keys, but it does offer two midi ouputs, midi in and a midi through. It has velocity sensitive keys, NO after touch. It has a sustain pedal input, stereo or mono output, a very smooth modulation wheel and pitch bend wheel.

Loved mine. Chose it originally in the 90s because it has a Macintosh serial port that could be used for MIDI without a separate MIDI adapter.
