A slide show, with music, of images that I took when in California visiting my daughter, at the beginning of 2006. All images belong to me; please do not take them and call them your own.
Music was by Enigma, a European band
YouTube made me change it to Audio Swap music:
Butterfly Chase
artist: Musicshake

  • What makes California one of the best places in the world is that it is diverse, beautiful and exciting. Until you have experienced it all, you do not know the real California.

  • I used to live there - in the Bay Area though. Sorry I took so long to respond to your comment.

    :-)

  • Yeah, really. Take away all the white people from this country. But that wouldn't work either.

It wouldn't be very nice either.

  • Take away the illegals, barrios and East LA and California would be California again.

  • I suppose. Sometimes I think I might want to move there, just so I could visit my daughter more easily. Maybe it would just be too much though. Especially since I'm getting older. I miss the beach.

  • You mean take away all the mexicans period, if you removed all the mexicans LA would be HEAVEN

  • California was originally part of Mexico and before that, it was occupied by the Gabrileno people. You might want to rethink your definition of "real California". Also, East LA is next to the Southern Pacific Railroad which was the trade pipeline into Southern California, integral for building the infrastructure of what you see today. Just saying.

  • I didn't see the main part of L.A. or East L.A. I just saw the good parts, I guess. I liked walking around Culver City. And I LOVED Visiting Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach! :-)

  • Actually, Culver City is a place I like, as well as West LA. I guess it's the Central and East LA areas that are really rediculously bad that I hate so much. My favorite areas are Malibu, Santa Monica, Palisades, etc. But West LA is a great place for some Japanese food on a Weekend. My dad works out there.

  • My daughter, she's 26, lives in Culver City about a half a block from West L.A. She loves it there! But, I know what you mean. I probably wouldn't like living there.

But it was certainly fun visiting.

    :-)
