This is one of my favourite versions. The first time I heard this was not Christmas but a bright hot summers morning. The sun shone through the bungalow bedroom window. It was as if I was in bed in the dappled shade of the silver birch trees. I woke up to it playing the bright sparkling sun shone through the silver birch leaves that trailed in strands down in the garden. The leaves cast a magical flickering of the bright sunlight. This is for real the only "xmas" song I can stomach . Being by Can may be what makes it so . I've still got a 45 of it in the closet . Used to dig it out , blow the dust off the record player and play it round about xmas time . This is the second year I've played it on youtube instead . Are we makin' progress ?
