Melanie Scenes August 31, 2010

Philip and Melanie arrive at the hospital. They run into Nathan and Melanie brags that Nathan is getting to do his first solo surgery. Philip wants to know how Nathan hurt himself, and Melanie has to explain how Nathan saved her from being strangled. Philip is upset that Melanie kept the clinic attack a secret from him. Melanie says she's just trying to forget about it, and she learned her lesson about keeping secrets. They kiss and make up, and Nathan says that it is time to head to the OR. Stephanie walks over first to ask what is new. Melanie announces that she is going to be a big sister because Chloe is pregnant. Stephanie pretends to be surprised and asks how far along, Melanie says a couple months. Nathan gets a shocked look on his face (because he also knows Chloe cheated). Later, Nathan & Melanie are prepping for surgery, when a nurse walks in and tells Nathan that the only reason he is getting a solo surgery so quickly is because he is a Horton. Melanie defends Nathan. The nurse leaves, and Melanie remarks that she's a "snarky little bitch!" Nathan says it doesn't bother him because he knows he can do this surgery regardless of what others think. Nathan begins the surgery, but he has a pain in his elbow when he starts, and drops his instrument. Melanie covers for him. Nathan says he had an involuntary muscle spasm and now his hand is numb. Melanie feels bad, because Nathan only got hurt while protecting her. The nurse returns, and Melanie whispers to him that she believes in him. After the surgery, Nathan tells her Thank You for what she did in there. He didn't think that he could operate, but when he looked in her eyes-he knew everything would be okay. She says she has his back, and he has hers.
