Is the Stevens/Savage 350 Pump really the best deal for the money when it comes to home defense shotgun in the market today? That is the question that I will be trying to answer for you guys on this series of videos.

This is a quick overview of the gun and its features, the full review and re-finishing project is going to be completed in the following week. If your want to be notified of when the videos come up simply subscribe to my channel. Thanks.

By the way give me a thumbs up for the sick intro. LOL It took hours to do.

  • I have a question....i have a Stevens 350. Whenever I dont have an shell in the chamber the dual action bars love to make a clanking sound......so when flip the gun over..."Clank".....when i have it on my shoulder walking around...."Clank"....."CLANK"!! Its driving me insane!!!!!! I love the gun I just cant stand the sound. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried tightening the screws but that didn't help. If ANYONE could help me it would be much appreciated!!!

  • @ATLSmackdown

I can understand your frustration. The reason why you get that clank is because when the action locks forward even tho the bolt lock shut to the barrel for some reason the carrier which the action bars hold to has a small amount of play. So the bars and pump are free to move back and forth just enough to make the sound.

I believe this is what you are talking about and I bet you could take it up with customer service. They may have a fix for this problem.

  • @ATLSmackdown So you have the same problem too?

  • @ATLSmackdown

I think all of this shotguns have this problem which I believe the company will say its a normal operation of the slide. I have not carry it like you do and that is the main reason why I don't have a problem with it but I can see how it might work against you if its something that annoys you personally.

It is a good and cheap shotgun but those are some of the negative you get when you purchase value over quality. I would like to know if it makes the price not worth it to you.

  • Can it fire slugs?

    It sure can.

  • Mossy 590 way better, not to knock stevens but what do you if a sheel jams with that design? there is no port that allows you to extract the shell manually. Ithaca designed this gun originally minus the dual action bars but for a shtf gun I'm not convinced about its reliability

  • I'll stick with my Mossy 930 SPX for a semi, and my Norinco Hawk 982 (or Rem 870 police or Mossy 590a1 for a pump). Or any FN. I like Savage a lot, but they definitely dropped the ball on this one. That's to make no mention of the alleged clanking criticism, which could give away your position.

  • Why, why, WHY not make the tube mag longer to hold 6 instead of 5, on a home defense gun, not to mention why not a little rail in front of the rear sight, to throw up an OEG/reflex/ESD?

  • @zaldivarbigboy Ok, it's not totally destroyed and I did check out the break down and reassemble. Good vids, as always. I'll pm you the stuff I've found, so far..
