This is the ride home from Orlando, FL to Newark, NJ on Amtrak's Silver Star #92. We departed Orlando, FL around 7:45pm on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 and arrived at Newark Penn Station, NJ around 7:20pm on Monday, November 23rd, 2009. We also had a roomette for the ride home. Video footage of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. Weather was a little rainy along the way, thus for the rain covered windows.

  • Nice vid! since the train arrived at night how long did it take you to get back to NJ. And what was the number on the p42 when it arrived in the beginning of the video?

  • @trainguy2020 Thanks! If I remember correctly, we departed Orlando at 7:45pm and arrived into Newark, NJ at 6:15pm the following day. Unfortunately, I do not remember what the road numbers were for our pair of P42's, I don't have them jotted down for some reason.

  • the Silver Meteor is far more quicker than the Meteor.

  • Great footage! I took the Silver Star from Philadelphia to Tampa and back in 2009. Doing it again in March this year. It's a great trip. I had a coach seat on the way down and upgraded to a roommette on the way home. This time I have a roommette for both trips. It's really the only way to go on a long distance trip. Thanks for posting!!

  • @Mike77e9 I think, if I remember correctly, it might be p42DC #180 or 182 or something. I've got a question: do you remember what scanner frequency you used? I just got mine and I'm trying to figure out a good frequency for this type of stuff.

  • That's nice right there i want to ride the silver star i like the silver star.i had originally planned to go on an amtrak train on my birthday but i never did :(.From what car was this filmed on? sleeper or amfleet car?.theres a sleeper car on the train which at night you can sleep in.

  • Those trash cars are from New York, they take NYC Garbage down to Richmond Virginia.
