Big redwood sequoia felled with 72" bar big Stihl 880 and Manitou 420 buggyscopic.

Felling and milling a sequioadendron in Guildford, UK. Tree had been struck by lightning 10 years previously and was splitting down the middle. Deemed unsafe it had to be felled but a lot of the timber was milled into planks that will live on!

Yes - there's middle ground between the 2 extremes. Posting comments of 'why you cut good tree down' does not mean you are environmentally friendly and helping the planet. Get the facts first, what was the situation? Where did the wood go? etc.

When and if you have a loved one die you don't bury the dead body? Or do you leave it at your house to rot?At least a tree is put to good use.
